How transmutation profit works
Every transmutation is a simple trade: one lower resource plus a fee, in exchange for one higher resource. It is profitable whenever the target resource sells for more than the input resource plus the transmutation fee — after sales tax if you intend to sell the result rather than use it.
The complication is that the fee is charged partly in gold, not silver. To compare fairly you convert the gold portion to silver at the current exchange rate, so a transmutation that looks marginal when gold is expensive can become clearly profitable when gold is cheap. Watching the gold market is part of transmutation trading.

What is transmutation in Albion Online?
Transmutation converts resources into a higher tier or enchantment level for a silver (and sometimes gold) fee, instead of gathering or buying the higher material. It is useful when the higher-tier resource is scarce or overpriced relative to the tier below it.
When is transmuting worth it?
Transmuting pays off when the market price of the target resource exceeds the cost of the input resource plus the transmutation fee. Because the fee can be paid partly in gold, the effective cost depends on the current gold price — the calculator converts everything to silver for a fair comparison.
How does the gold price affect transmutation cost?
