What is salvaging in Albion Online?

Salvaging breaks an item down into a portion of the refined materials used to craft it. When gear sells for less than those returned materials are worth on the market, you can buy it, salvage it and sell the resources for profit.

How is salvage value calculated?

The tool sums the market value of the materials each item returns when salvaged (net of sales tax when sold via sell order) and compares it to the item's cheapest current buy price. A positive difference is your profit.
