How to Get the Most Silver from Focus in Albion Online

Focus is limited to 10,000 a day. Learn how Focus Cost Efficiency works, how to rank crafts by silver per Focus, and where to spend your daily budget.

Focus is the most misunderstood resource in the Albion Online economy. You only get 10,000 a day (up to 30,000 stored with a Premium building), so spending it *well* matters far more than spending it *often*. Here is how to make every point count.

What Focus does

Using Focus roughly doubles your resource return rate on items you have specialised in — from about 24.8% to 47.9% when crafting in a bonus city. Because return rate is the biggest lever on real material cost, Focus can turn a break-even craft into a solid profit. But it is scarce, so the real question is never "is this craft cheaper with Focus?" — it is "does this craft earn more silver per Focus point than the next best use?"

Focus Cost Efficiency (FCE)

The Focus a craft consumes falls as your Focus Cost Efficiency rises. FCE comes from three sources:

  • Specialisation on the item itself — 250 FCE per level.
  • Sibling items in the same category — 30 FCE each.
  • Mastery levels — 30 FCE each.

The cost scales as:

FocusCost = base × 0.5 ^ (FCE / 10000)

Because it is exponential, deep specialisation can cut Focus cost by more than half. This is why veteran crafters concentrate on a few lines instead of spreading thin — a specialised crafter pays a fraction of the Focus a generalist does for the same item.

Silver per Focus

To compare crafts fairly, compute silver per Focus: the extra profit Focus adds to a craft, divided by the Focus points it consumes. Ranking your crafts this way tells you exactly where to spend a limited budget. A high-margin item that barely sips Focus beats a huge craft that drains it.

Budgeting a day of Focus

  1. List every item you can craft.
  2. For each, work out the extra profit Focus adds and the Focus it costs.
  3. Fill your daily allowance from the highest silver-per-Focus item downward.

Doing this by hand is tedious, so the Focus calculator explains the maths and the full Focus tool turns your specialisation and live prices into an optimal daily allocation.

Common mistakes

  • Focusing low-margin bulk crafts just because they are cheap in Focus — the return per point is tiny.
  • Ignoring specialisation and Focusing items you have not specced, where the cost is brutal.
  • Not checking prices — a craft that was worth Focusing yesterday may not be today.

Next steps

Read the Focus calculator to understand the maths, then pair it with the crafting calculator to see which crafts are worth your Focus right now.
